ClancyWorks Dance Company reaches thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds, bringing high-quality dance performances and programs to the DC metropolitan area. Its modern dance ensemble performs for audiences at school assemblies and senior citizen centers, and on local, national, and international stages.
In the Arts in Education program, students learn that creative movement can help them solve conflicts, learn respect and tolerance, achieve common goals – and even get better grades. Need to tackle astronomy concepts? A dance-integrated curriculum gets kids connecting their movements to the workings of our solar system. Want to dismantle bullying and racism? Physical expression helps unlock complex emotions.
Last year alone, ClancyWorks offered 57 educational programs, primarily in Montgomery County schools that serve low-income students. It also runs programs for dancers young and old in recreation departments and retirement communities, and provides professional training to arts instructors from the DC area and beyond. Dance knows no boundaries: you can help ClancyWorks take its next leap.
