Who is on the Faculty of the Week-Long Training Institute? Our faculty list continues to grow. Confirmed Session Leaders include: Tamara Ashley (University of Northumbria, UK) is a senior lecturer in the division of Performance and Choreography at Northumbria University where she also directs Brief Magnetics, a performance company committed to developing narratives for spaces and place. Recent independent projects include an interest in epic, site-sensitive, and durational performance highlighted in her recent project, “Performing the Pennine Way”, a 270 mile dance performance score performed for 31 days. She has an MFA in Dance and Related Arts from Texas Woman’s University. Ilsa Bush (Washington, D.C.) has worked in dance, law, editing, and health advocacy. She currently teaches at ballet technique at George Washington University and at the Joy of Motion dance studio in Washington, DC. She also worked as a children’s health advocate, chairing the government relations committee of the Tourette Syndrome Association. She presented the concerns of the group to Congress and gave in-service presentations about the neurological disorder to school teachers, nurses, and administrators. She received her B.A. from Harvard University and her J.D. from Arizona State University. Adrienne Clancy (Director, ClancyWorks Dance Company) builds upon 19 years of professional dance teaching, performing and choreographic experience. Previous to founding and directing ClancyWorks, Adrienne was a member of the Bella Lewitzky Dance Company and the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange. In addition to directing ClancyWorks and teaching dance at George Mason University (since 2003), Adrienne serves on the Executive Committee for Alternate ROOTS and is currently pursuing a PhD in Dance from Texas Woman’s University. Adriane Fang (Great Falls, VA) graduated with honors with a double major in Dance and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point. She was a member of Doug Varone and Dancers for 10 years, performing and teaching nationally and internationally. She has been on faculty at GMU since August 2006 Jeffery Gunshol (New Orleans, Louisiana) brings 19 years of professional performance and teaching experience to this project. Mr. Gunshol danced for Melanie Stewart in Philadelphia, Mark Dendy in New York City, and from 1992-1997, Jeffrey taught, choreographed, and performed with the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange. In most recent years Jeffrey has taught at the American Dance Festival in North Carolina, the School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam, and is currently teaching at Tulane University. Suzanne Henneman (Baltimore, MD) is the Dance Resource Teacher for Baltimore County Public Schools and has been teaching and administrating dance education for 30 years. Her many responsibilities include writing and implementing K-12 dance curriculum, supervising the fine arts dance teachers in the county with 11 fine arts dance programs grades 6 – 12, and providing resources and training for Pre-K through grade 12 Physical Education teachers and students. Suzie is passionate about the newest scientific research on the brain and its relation to education and movement. She is certified in Brain Gym 101, Flow Yoga, and Level I mat Pilates and presents at the local, state, and national levels. Workshop Fees: Fee for the workshop is $300. Tuition will be waived for Baltimore County Public School Faculty Members and ClancyWorks' Teaching Artists.
