Dream Catchers targets dire questions put forth from diving into this current age of complexity: how might we continue to hold onto simple ideas and dreams in a world that moves so quickly and is becoming so complex? How can we ensure that our dreams do not transform into our nightmares?
Dream Catchers is an interactive modern dance work that investigates dreams, relationships, and communication. Through an exploration of these ideas, brought forth through researching the egg and its various metaphors, the work portrays the delicate nature of dreams – broke, held onto, or realized.
Premiere performance took place at Dance Place in Washington DC in November 2014. The work was later developed through the 2015 Dance Metro DC Commissioning Award and is set to be performed as Catching Dreams in September 2015 at Dance Place.
