Tamara Ashley is a senior lecturer in the division of Performance and Choreography at Northumbria University where she also directs Brief Magnetics, a performance company committed to developing narratives for spaces and place. Recent independent projects include an interest in epic, site-sensitive, and durational performance highlighted in her recent project, ‘Performing the Pennine Way’, a 270 mile dance performance score performed for 31 days. In 2004, Tamara received an Applauding and Promoting Teaching Award and was a National Teaching Fellow nominee for conducting teaching practice research in arts-based assessment strategies. She has an MFA in Dance and Related Arts from Texas Woman’s University.
