Jeffery Gunshol (New Orleans, LA)

Courses: Choreography and the use of Popular Culture in teaching dance to high school students
Mr. Gunshol brings 18 years of professional performance and teaching experience to this project. Prior to earning his BFA from VA Commonwealth University he graduated from the Baltimore School of Arts and received a full scholarship at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center. Mr. Gunshol danced for Melanie Stewart in Philadelphia, Mark Dendy in New York City, and from 1992-1997, Jeffrey taught, choreographed, and performed with the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange. While earning a MFA from the University of Utah, Jeffery taught classes in their dance department and continued his choreographic research. In most recent years Jeffrey has taught at the American Dance Festival in North Carolina, the School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam, and is currently teaching at Tulane University.
